Sea Turtle

Watercolor painting of a sea turtle by Katherine Froiland, Momoppi Art

I have always loved the look of watercolor painting. I would spend time watching others produce beautiful pieces of art on the internet but never create my own. It wasn't until recently that I picked up a brush and paint set of my own and set sail on a new art journey.

"A new adventure begins" -- it was the perfect reminder written on the mug that I chose as a water vessel. A reminder that it is a new skill that will take time. There may be a few bumps in the road along the way, and the first, second, or even thirtieth attempt may not be the outcome I hoped for. That's why it's an adventure. As long as I can learn and strive to get better and love it just the same, then let's go for it.

This is one of my favorite pieces. I drew the sea turtle with inking pens then painted it. Once the turtle dried, I cut it out and glued it onto the blue wash. I then framed it and mailed it to a friend.
