Pikachu Living His Best Life
We want to be our very best (like no one ever was ♬), and sometimes the initial outcome doesn't turn out the way we envision. And that's OK. Take a minute, collect your thoughts, and take it in another direction.
My original plan was to make a print of a watercolor painting, but between the ink smear to the right of Pikachu's tail and the scanner not translating the image the way I wanted it to, I felt discouraged.
This was best time to step away.
But you know what else is fun? Stickers. Know what stickers need? Vector art.
That's when I decided to re-create this adorable yellow electric rodent in Adobe Illustrator. Of the three core Adobe products I use (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), I would say I'm less comfortable with Illustrator. That said, it's projects like this that let me delve into the program and play around with creating different shapes.
Things like this just remind me of a photo I saw on Pinterest once. It featured a hand holding a Post-it that read, "If 'Plan A' didn't work, the alphabet has 25 more letters! Stay cool."
Sometimes those later versions turn out better than the first anyway.
